Article Reflection

The development of current technology changes our life into an instant one. Not only a matter of fulfilling our need such as food, housing, gadgets, etc that can be easily covered using technology but the need of communication also can be grabbed by technology through the social media. Nowadays people do not need to go outside and interact with others to build a communication; they just sit down in front of their gadget and open facebook, twitter and others social media to fulfill their need in communication with others although we do not know them or we never meet some of them in a real life. the writer think that this new condition give more bad effect to our generation especially  the way they do their life, the writer call it as In an instant life. life in which everything can be accomplished and covered easily thought technology.

The writer gives a beautiful example by directing the reader into the situation inside the restaurant. In the past restaurant or cafe is a place of family to build the relationship and communication apart from the main purpose that is eating. But nowadays the condition change dramatically. Inside the restaurant we’ll find some families with complete gadgets. The parents sit in front of their laptops an enjoy finishing their works, while their children are pond off playing their smart phones with enjoying the Wi-fi facilities from the restaurant. We are hardly found the situation when families talk together and make a joke each other while enjoying their food in which the social communication happen

Instant life according to the writer makes our generation loose a sense of culture. For instance, in the past people are accustomed to write and send a letter through a peach of paper and grabbed into envelope with a various kind of stamp and seal. Writing a letter teach children on how to use a polite language to the elderly one as well as the structure of the letter itself from heading, opening till closing, here the literacy and linguistic works are learnt. In addition to this each person has their own style in writing that we call it as handwriting style. From their style we can recognize their characteristic, personality and their behavior. Those are the complete activities that cannot be found in today’s’ life.

All in all, the writer really misses this kind of culture and gives suggestion implicitly to all components to use technology properly and keep it away from an instant life as well as preserve our magnificent culture especially for our young generation.
